Reminders/Announcements:

*Please sign/initial your child's agenda daily.
*Students are asked to continue reading every night for at least 20 minutes and continue filling out their R.E.D form.
*Information regarding Pathways to French Gr 4-6 went home on Friday. The two options are the extended program (25%) and the immersion program (50%). Please check your preference as soon as possible and return your form to school by Feb. 28, 2019.
*Students will be coming home with Prodigy usernames and passwords. Prodigy is a free math game for Grade 1-6. This website is an excellent tool to help students practice their math skills and help to prepare the students for the EQAO Assessment that will be in the Spring.

*Save the Date!
As you are aware the Grade 3 Students have been working collaboratively with AY Jackson Gr. 9 & 10 Computer Science Students since the fall to create and develop educational computer games/mobile apps. This Tuesday, Jan. 29 is our App Launch Party! The celebration will take place in our Learning Commons at 9:30 am until about 11:00 am.  All parents are welcome to come and see what all the students have collectively created. Hope to see you there!
****If the busses are cancelled, the App. Party will be held on Wed. Jan. 30, 2019 ****

*Even though the students do not go out for recess during extremely cold weather (colder than -25 C not factoring in the wind chill), it is important to educate our little ones to be weather wise while they're waiting for a bus or walking to school! *The Grade 3 Students love sharing! Because of this, we now have a "Share Bin" in our class where the students can place an art piece, photo etc. to share with our classroom community on Fridays.

*Homework:
- Students are asked to continue reading every night for at least 20 minutes and continue filling out their R.E.D form.
-Weekly WWW will continue to be introduced at school and will come home on Mondays for the students to use each word in a sentence. WWW notebooks are due back to school every Friday.
-Beginning this week, students will be given practice EQAO questions to complete for homework due back on Fridays. Each week, I will rotate the subject areas (i.e. reading, math, writing) given. This week will begin with reading.

* Again this year, we have been able to rent some ice time at the Jack Charron Arena on January 8th until March 9th. Visits to the arena will provide an excellent opportunity for skating skill development. Below you will find our skating dates and times. A permission form will be sent home today.
